Exciting news: the California Democractic Party has established its latest regional headquarters in Huntington Beach at 18700 Main Street Suite 109. The red brick building is right across from the 5 Points Shopping Center (where you will find a permanent ballot box). The office will serve as headquarters for a coordinated campaign for various candidates running in Orange County. Candidates will be sending materials such as flyers and signs to this central office for efficiency and convenience.

There are many opportunities to get involved and help defeat this President and vote Democrat in down ballot races.

Phone Banking: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 8:00 pm

Canvassing in HB on weekends: February 9, 16 and 23. We have two shifts: from 10:00 to 12:00 in the morning and from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. Sign up to canvass for Harley by checking on March Forward link.

Packet Assembly: Thursdays and Fridays from 12 to 3 or from 3 to 6.

Please join us on February 8th! Primary ballots are being mailed now. Look for them in your mailbox. Voting begins February 29. Come to our party–our 3rd year anniversary so there will be cake! Also potluck if you want to share a non-dessert dish. Bring your ballots and come on February 8th!

OC VOTE CENTERS

HB Huddle is starting a campaign to inform voters in Orange County of the new procedures that will begin with the March primary. We need to let Democrats know to 1) expect mail-in ballots whether they were requested or not; 2) polling places are no more. Instead there will be Vote Centers throughout the county that will be open 11 days previous to the election; 3) there will be mail box type “drop boxes” at key locations throughout the county; and 4) you can vote anywhere–if you live in HB but work in Tustin, you can drop your ballot in Tustin or any city in the OC.

We need to get the word out about these changes to maximize voter participation which is key to our keeping the OC blue.

HB Huddle has created an information card about these changes (see below). Some of the dates still need to be finalized. We need your help to get the word out.

Will you help distribute these cards to our neighbors in Huntington Beach beginning in January 2020? This is an important community service. Let’s live HB Huddle’s motto–Think Big. Act Local.
